Out on a Lim

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Target.
Seriously, I go at least twice a week.
Seriously.
What did I do before #targetdoesitagain? Lived a half-life, that's what I did. (A half-life where I saved $$, but still.)

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target debuts September 15th & it is all kinds of goodness. The big reveal happened on August 12th, as bloggers & editors & everyone-who's-anyone got a first look in a studio in NYC.

"Cool & chic, but still very accessible."
His words, not mine!

Might as well mosey on over to the Lookbook so you can see more beauties like these down below.

Sorry this turned into a fashion blog. That wasn't my intent.
Alas, the heart wants what it wants.

Happy shopping!

Legends of the Fall

My favorite season is coming! I can't believe it's almost here. Where did summer go?

My friends & I went to the #jcrewstylesessions last night to see all the new threads for this coming fall season & it was a total bust. Not what you were expecting, right? We thought the same thing.

However, it was difficult to leave the store without a single piece of J. Crew glory.
Seriously, everything is perfection.

Don't be surprised if one day I replace Jenna Lyons.
No, actually be completely SHOCKED because that would be crazy.

I agree with all that's been said so fervently, I feel like I wrote those mantras myself. Too presumptuous?

On the immediate Wish List:

See what I mean?
Have you gotten your Style Guide yet? If you haven't, there are plenty more where these images came from over at J. Crew's Pinterest page. If you're old school like me, go pick up a style guide from your closest store & start tearing out the pages (every single one, to be exact) to serve as your fall wardrobe styling inspiration. You won't be disappointed!

Off to find the Fake It versions of these. Already off to a good start with these pretty ponies. Wish me luck &...you're welcome!

"She is the most charming person in the world."

Before she was Mrs. F. Scott Fitzgerald, she was Zelda Sayre.
And even then, I think she knew she'd do something big.

She'd be 113 years old today. Which Zelda do I love the most? The Southern Belle? The writer? Daisy Buchanan in the flesh? It's difficult to say--but hey, I don't discriminate.
I'm not sure when it happened, but sometime between my freshman year of high school and now, I fell in love with all things Z-E-L-D-A.

How can you not love the woman who was, quintessentially, the most-beloved & to-be-envied 'flapper' of all time?

It seems all the world has fallen in love with Z.S.F. & my bookshelf is proof. Therese Anne Fowler's Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald is thus far my favorite fictionalized account of unforgettable Zelda, although Beautiful Fools (recognize that reference?) by R. Clifton Spargo deserves high praise & Call Me Zelda by Erika Robuck is sure to be a keeper as well.

Words to live by.
Happy Birthday, Z!

Roses are red, Violets are blue

If there's two things I love most in this world, it's fresh croissants for breakfast and a good accessory. This post is about neither one of those, but now that that's out of the way...

I'm not a huge tumblr person;  I only have one because I needed a place to keep track of Fake It Til You Make It & sometimes I even forget about that. However, anything with J. Crew stamped on it can make me a believer (can you say J. Crew-a-holic?) Let me just say: Tumblr + J. Crew = yes yes yes.

The company's blog boasts all sorts of goodies & behind the scenes peeks. No such thing as too much J. Crew. Don't beg to differ.

Back in May, they joined their set designer on a trip to the flower district & ever since then, my desktop background has been a rotation of all of the following images. Flowers & J. Crew--can't go wrong there.

Did I mention Tracy has my dream job? She never goes anywhere without her pink gardening clippers & has been prop styling shoots for J. Crew for over 10 years.

Look out Tracy! I'm coming for your job.

Milly, May I?

Yes, you may.

Folks, this is one collaboration for the books.
Last week, the Banana Republic Milly Capsule Collection hit stores nationwide & I have been drooling over the Instagrams showcasing it ever since.

I'm applauding Milly's Creative Director Michelle Smith for Milly by Banana Republic.
Here's why:

Can't wait til it all goes on sale so I can buy it!
Didn't you know? I avoid buying things at full-price.
(That didn't really end up like you thought it would, did it?)
